Jewellery to make you smile
Jewellery to make you smile
I was invited by the Swiss National Museum to do these performances during the exhibition “Swiss jewellery in the 20th century”, 2003
Visitors could have a piece of adornment made by me. I had on hand a wide range of common household and hardware store materials to choose from. On the spot in about 10 minutes I chose materials for each person and let my hands make an object that fitted with, or contrasted to, their outfit and expressions. I used sticky tape, wire, and threads to attach them.
This is a very spontaneous way to decorate people. It is a bit like improvisation in music.
When I had made a piece I took a photo. On three Sunday afternoons I made about 80 pieces.
