There was a printing press in the studio. I wanted to print some plants directly on paper. I liked plants with traces of insect activity. This looked like another form of lace. Another kind of weaving or a lace effect was produced by the crisscrossing of Burrawang leaves when the sun was shining through them. I wanted to do another work representing the two epochs, that of the dinosaurs and that of the settlers, together on one sheet of paper. I printed the doilies from Nowra and the fresh Burrawang leaves directly onto each other on paper. The only color came from the sap of the leaves. They stained the paper green, which later turned into brown.
